To understand Temix Communications today, it helps to begin one level up: with the Temix Group of which it is part. Temix’s is not the story of a start-up riding a single technology wave. It is the story of an engineering house that has spent more than thirty years in satellite communications, building a reputation founded on innovation, dependable reliability and the credibility that comes from delivering critical systems and standing behind them for years.
Those foundations were laid in Italy. From its engineering roots in Catania, Temix grew under the continuous stewardship of its founder beyond its original satellite-communications domain, extending its competence into aerospace and defence as customers entrusted it with more demanding and sensitive missions.
The organisation remains distinctly European, and by choice. Its competences are Italian in origin, but its reach is international. Temix has expanded across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The Group operates from Europe, Italy and the United Kingdom, with a presence extending to the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. European engineering sovereignty at the core, combined with international presence, defines the way Temix works.
Temix Communications: The Satellite Heart of the Group
Within this wider Group, Temix Communications carries the original mission forward: sovereign satellite and hybrid communications infrastructure for defence forces, telecommunications operators and broadcasters. Based in Catania, it combines European engineering heritage with advanced GEO and NGEO systems, portable gateways, IoT platforms and research partnerships to deliver resilient networks and long-term operational independence.
What distinguishes Temix Communications is less any single product than the capability behind them. The company designs and integrates end-to-end connectivity for satellite ground services and holds internally the disciplines that make this possible: antenna and RF engineering, embedded systems and software development for network management systems (NMS). This mastery allows it to build terminals and ground systems rather than simply badge them, adapting capabilities to the customer’s mission rather than a vendor’s roadmap.
Two areas particularly express this heritage today: ground stations and terminals. In both, Temix Communications draws on a long tradition now pointed firmly at the defence and security mission.
Temix Communications has a long tradition in the ground segment and has followed the industry’s journey from GEO dominance to today’s multi-orbit reality. Its portfolio spans classic geostationary services and the NGEO systems that MEO and LEO constellations demand.
The company retains ground-station products for commercial telecommunications, but its centre of gravity has shifted towards defence, particularly multi-band COMINT and SIGINT solutions. Temix Communications has delivered multi- band terrestrial-segment COMINT and SIGINT programmes built around large-reflector antenna systems up to 16 metres, carrying work from specialised design and integration through technical support and long-term operational assistance.
“Our relationship with Temix Communications is, more than a supplier-customer arrangement, a genuine partnership. It is a collaboration begun many years ago that sees us working side by side,” says Muammar Slamdien (Ben), VASTech.
Terminals: From EasyFLYSAT to the EFX Multi-Domain Node
If ground stations show Temix Communications’ depth, terminals show its instinct for anticipating the market. The company understood early that future operations would depend on integrating satellite and terrestrial communications. In 2003, before “hybrid” became a marketing word, it brought to market EasyFLYSAT, its first hybrid portable communication terminal, which served telecom operators, broadcasters and European Space Agency emergency-response projects across Europe, Africa and Asia.
Two decades of engineering development followed through GEO dominance and into today’s multi-orbital era. That trajectory produced the EFX series, built around the EFX Universal Communication Gateway. More than a terminal, EFX acts as a node within a multi-domain platform, integrating GEO, MEO, LEO and terrestrial technologies. Its design supports multi-orbital satellite services and compact field operations while maintaining control of technologies central to sovereignty: the AESA antenna, AI-driven software architecture and interoperability within a larger multi-orbit service.
“Our portable hybrid wireless communication gateways have evolved into the EFX Universal Gateway, integrating GEO, MEO, LEO and terrestrial technologies to ensure resilient and sovereign connectivity,” says Arjana Reci, General Manager, Temix Communications.
The Difference Is in the Support
Beyond technology, Temix Communications has a clear idea of what wins and retains customers: the quality of its support. Across ground stations and terminals, the company stays close to customers beyond delivery. Its care extends across the programme lifecycle, from requirement definition and specialised design to integration, validation, sustained technical support and long-term operational assistance. It is a philosophy that fits naturally with its sovereignty proposition: customers retaining control of critical communications capabilities need the people who built them to remain within reach.

From Communications to On-Board Systems: The LEO Frontier
That same engineering depth is today opening a new frontier for Temix Communications. The body of knowledge accumulated over more than thirty years of satellite communications, from waveform architecture to RF and antenna engineering through to system integration, no longer feeds only the ground segment and the terminals, but extends towards the on-board systems for low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites. It is a natural evolution: the competences that for decades have made the link between ground and orbit reliable are the same ones now needed to design the payloads and communication subsystems that travel on board the new generation of LEO constellations.
This is where the Group dimension makes the difference. Within the Temix Group, Temix Space Vietnam, based in Hanoi, carries this heritage into space, dedicating itself to on-board systems, space RF subsystems and payloads for remote-sensing and low-Earth-orbit communication missions. The Vietnamese presence is not a mere international outpost: it is the point at which the satellite experience the Group has matured over thirty years is transformed into technology that flies.
