Fortem Technologies Deploys Man-Portable Counter-Uas Solution In Ukraine


In Ukraine, the sophisticated, AI-driven, autonomous portable Fortem DroneHunter is getting deployed to counter Putin's drones.


Fremont, CA: DroneHunter is a radar-guided AI-enabled drone that locks on to its target, launches a net, catches the dangerous drone, and tows it to a secure area. Because the DroneHunter is kinetic and non-lethal, it causes minimal to no collateral harm.

Fortem Technologies, a pioneer in airspace security and defense for identifying and combating harmful drones, has launched a new, smaller portable counter-UAS device in response to the Ukraine situation. Fortem provided Ukraine with several Fortem SkyDome man-portable counter-UAS solutions, as well as on-site training and support, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. The solution comprises the Fortem DroneHunter, which automatically eliminates drones from the sky day and night.

Ukraine urgently needs portable counter-drone equipment to identify and disable hostile surveillance drones in Groups 1 and 2. Recognizing this, Fortem reduced and simplified their pre-existing portable counter-UAS device as an expeditionary quick deployment system.

The Fortem SkyDome man-portable counter-UAS system deploys rapidly with an off-power grid that does not require the use of power networks or generators. This enables expeditionary troops to operate on the front lines of a battle without relying on a functioning infrastructure or heavy and loud support equipment. Moreover, the approach is extremely safe for the operators since they may be stationed far away and halt broadcasts over ground radios to prevent electronic detection. In addition, the detecting sensors work at a very large beamwidth and low power, making electronic countermeasures exceedingly difficult to detect the solution.
