Innovation in the satellite communication industry is booming at an incredible pace to facilitate robust and resilient connectivity for television and radio broadcasters, internet services, and military and defense applications. Organizations are often moving toward cityscape for installing ground stations to provide seamless connectivity to users and for better optics. They are, however, finding it challenging to set up heavy-duty satellite antenna systems in the cities due to space constraints, permitting, and accessibility. Conventional satellite equipment providers don’t offer a holistic service portfolio on that front; their responsibility ends after delivering the antennas. As organizations struggle with the installation and maintenance of ground/TV stations, the end-to-end services of Efficient Antenna Systems, Inc. (EASi) are a game-changer.
EASi is a one-stop satellite equipment and communication solution provider that offers end-to-end services, from sales, design and layout, to project management, integration, and service of satellite communication systems. It also extends a comprehensive product portfolio, including antennas, antenna controllers, de-ice systems, snow shields, and non-penetrating mounts. With a primary focus on the broadcast arena, EASi also caters to diverse sectors, including military and defense.
“We offer satellite communication systems that serve unique client needs for either ground or roof installations. Our service encompasses everything, from conception to completion,” says Tim Hedrick, president, EASi.
EASi works hand-in-hand with clients to understand their unique requirements and offer tailored products that fit their functionality and available space. From conceptualizing the idea to implementing the setup at the desired location, the team at EASi works with structural engineers, electricians, interior integrators, and technicians. The EASi team, led by Hedrick, has extensive expertise on that front, offering customized antenna system packages and tailor-made mounts for the most demanding connectivity challenges in the broadcasting and defense sectors. The company’s laser focus is on offering equipment and communication solutions to meet the costs and needs of clients. During the whole process, if the clients have a query, EASi facilitates direct contact with subject matter experts without the need to go through multiple contact points.
To complement this client-centric approach, EASi has a broad product portfolio that caters to varied client requirements, be it the need for multiple antennas, seismic requirements, rain fade prevention, or ground and roof installations. One of EASi’s popular antennas is the 4.5-meter Survivor series, which entails both fixed or motorized versions, with the option of converting to either in the future without drastic changes to the system. EASi also offers high wind additions for mounts to meet changing structural permitting requirements. Similarly, EASi’s kingpost is designed to be structurally heavier than its peers to meet the needs of most applications. Even its in-pad bolt kits are uniquely designed to suit almost any application.

These competencies are best-reflected in the company’s various successful client collaborations, one of which is with a prominent TV station, KTLA, located on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. When the streaming service and production giant Netflix took over the TV station’s site to build its headquarters, the station had to uninstall the existing antennas and install all new equipment above a large, 10-storied parking facility built next to the headquarters. The TV station onboarded EASi and successfully tackled all the ensuing challenges, including limited space and seismic requirements. EASi provided five of its 4.5-Meter Survivor Series antenna packages along with a 7.6-meter ASC and a 5.6-meter ASC uplink antenna, making the best use of the minimal space.
EASi goes above and beyond to fulfill clients’ satellite equipment installation needs as one of the largest satellite antenna suppliers in the industry. Combining its broad product portfolio with a client-centric end-to-end approach, EASi allows organizations to install satellite antenna systems in confined spaces across the urban landscape without the logistics, installation, and maintenance challenges being the sole responsibility of the end user.
