Fremont, CA: Cognitive Space, a Houston-based aerospace technology firm, was chosen to join in the new Amazon Web Services Space Accelerator, the company announced on July 6.
The AWS Space Accelerator, which was announced earlier this year, is a four-week program for space entrepreneurs that use AWS technologies to solve industry concerns. The program will give technical, business, and mentorship resources to the ten early-stage startups that have been chosen to participate in the Space Accelerator.
Cognitive Space employs artificial intelligence to assist enterprises in managing and optimizing space assets, such as automated systems for satellite operations, revenue and performance yield, modeling and simulation, and other services. Cognitive Space will receive up to $100,000 in AWS Activate credit, cloud training and support, mentorship as well as other development resources as part of its participation in the AWS Space Accelerator. Seraphim, a space-focused investment firm, will give business development and investment advice to the participating enterprises.
"Being one of the few startups accepted into the AWS Space Accelerator is a great honor and we appreciate the confidence AWS has placed in us," stated Scott Herman, CEO of Cognitive Space. "We’re very excited about the mentoring opportunity that the accelerator provides to startups like ours, and we look forward to working closely with AWS and Seraphim as we build our company."
